Coming Soon! Technical Specification for Guidance on the application of Service Integration and Management to ISO/IEC 20000‐14

August 27, 2023

The INCITS/IT Governance Technical Committee is participating through ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 40 to develop Technical Specification ISO/IEC TS 20000‐14, Guidance on the application of Service Integration and Management to ISO/IEC 200001. This publication aims to provide guidance to organizations that manage services in an environment that includes services sourced from multiple service providers through the incorporation of a service integration function and development of service integration and management ecosystem. Service integration and management (SIAM) can be applied to different sizes and types of organizations, and to different industry sectors.

ISO/IEC TS 20000‐14 will be especially useful to implementers, consultants, auditors, and other interested parties working with ISO/IEC 20000‐1 when it is used in an environment with complex service provisioning models.

Highlights of what’s to come in this publication include the following:

1.
The components of SIAM as documented in the Foundation and Professional Body of Knowledge (F‐BoK & P‐BoK, respectively) are presented and equated to concepts and requirements of ISO/IEC 20000‐1 and the service management system (SMS).
2.
Guidance on the application of SIAM to an SMS will be provided as recommendations. Additionally, guidance will be provided to address the following scenarios: organization as a customer, organization as a service integrator, organization as a service provider. The correlation table depicts the components of an SMS and the corresponding guidance within SIAM.
